I Love this time of the year...Its Fall again !!  Most Of us including me doused myself in fabulously smelling fall scented candles......But now I know better.

The problem with this is that while those little jars of wax can make our house smell good, they also reduce our air quality and release all kinds of icky toxins when we light them up.

I think it’s common knowledge that the air in our homes is more polluted than that of the great outdoors, but did you know that studies have shown that the toxins released by candles are as dangerous as second-hand smoke? That really opened my eyes and decided to make changes!!

Just go ahead and google things like paraffin, benzene, and toluene and be prepared to be disgusted!

What’s worse is that the thing we want most from those candles, the sweet smells of fall, is actually made up of anywhere from 3000-5000 chemicals which for the most part haven’t even been tested to ensure they’re safe for humans.

In fact, “fragrance” is just a blanket term for the chemical makeup of a smell.  And since companies can claim this to be a trade secret, they don’t have to disclose which chemicals are used!

Ingredients commonly used in fragrance have been linked to allergies, hormone disruptors, endocrine disruptors, asthma triggers, neurotoxicity, and carcinogenicity.

The bottom line is that having a nice smelling Home is not worth the havoc that candles, plug-in air fresheners, wax melts, odor sprays, etc.create to wreak on our bodies.

Now, I know what you’re thinking!  How do I keep my home smelling good if everything scented is bad for me?  And boy have I got an answer for you!

Are you ready for it…NATURE in the form of Plants!!   More specifically, the essential oil that is derived from plants! and more important grown organically.

Essential oils smell INCREDIBLE and the blends you can create are almost endless, but the best part is that they actually increase the air quality in our homes!  Essential oils can purify our air, boost our immune systems, and boost our mood when we diffuse them.

However, you need to be sure you know your source when it comes to oils or you could fall back into the same trap of chemical-ridden crap filling your air.  The essential oil industry isn’t regulated (meaning companies can label a bottle 100% pure, even when it’s not) so finding a company you trust is key.

I’ve found a company that’s standards can’t be beat! And bringing their products into my home has blessed and changed my family’s life.

If you’re not ready to hop on this plant juice journey yet, I implore you to continue to look into the dangers of scented candles and other fragrance products.

But, if you’re ready to make the change, I can help you get started!

Leave a comment or Contact me, and we’ll have your house smelling of Nature at its best ” and “Pumpkin Spice” in no time!

Happy Fall one and all!!!

The 7 Chakras ,Our Energy Centers!!

The 7 Chakras ,Our Energy Centers!!
Our energy centers keep us balanced , actually its our duties to keep them in balance so that we can live an emotionally ,spiritually and physically balanced life.

What Are Chakras Anyway?

Chakras are the energy centers of our body. The sanskrit word “chakra” translates to “wheel” or “disc.” Think of the chakras as spinning wheels of energy located at different spots along your spine. There are 7 chakras that begin at the base of your spine and move upward,  ending with the seventh on the crown of your head. Each chakra has its own name, color, associated stones and crystals, and energetic realm that it rules.

There are many tools that we can use to balance out our chakras.....
Yoga ,Meditation ,Essential oils are my favourite.

I'd like to share how essential oils have the power to balance the chakras out.

Did You Know that Essential Oils Are Not Just For Aromatherapy?

Essential oils have been used for millions of years as aromatherapy, skin support, and for optimal wellness. But essential oils can also be used to help support each of the chakras. Chakras are nothing more than energy centers in the body that give our mind a focal point when we are aiming to foster a certain energy.  Using essential oils to support chakras is simple and easy. Below is a list of essential oils that can be used for each energy center, as well as an introduction to each of the chakras.

Root Chakra

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine, and it is the foundation of our security. When this chakra is in balance, we feel grounded, secure, and have a confident relationship with money. In excess of the root chakra, we can become lazy, overweight, and hoard objects. Conversely, when we have too little, we are flighty, distracted, underweight, and lose objects frequently.

Which essential oils balance the Root?

Oils for the root chakra are grounding and earthy and are often from trees that contain very deep roots. There are also essential oils that support a healthy relationship with money and allow you to bring empowered money to your life. Lastly, there are oils that challenge us to be brave in our pursuit of dreams.

Some essential oils that support the root chakra are: Cedarwood,Cypress, Idaho grand fir, Vetiver, Abundance™, Grounding™, Valor®.

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is the water element in the body. Creativity, sexuality, and inner joy are housed in the sacral chakra. When it is in balance we pursue creative projects, flow with the waves of life, and have a normal sexual relationship with ourselves and others. Excessive sacral chakra leads to excessive sexuality and an inability to get real work done because we are constantly pursuing new creative things. Too little of the sacral chakra and we lean towards frigidity in both sexuality and personality.

Which essential oils balance the Sacral Chakra?

Oils for the sacral chakra have a youthful and fun energy. Apply these to the lower abdomen to support the sacral chakra: Grapefruit, Jasmine, Orange, Rose, and Inner Child™.

Solar Plexus

The solar plexus chakra is a source of power, digestion, and self awareness. This is the part of the body where there is fire, and so we want to use fiery essential oils. When the Solar Plexus is in balance, we have optimal digestion, excellent self awareness, and appropriate assertiveness. But when out of balance, it manifests as excessive assertiveness, manipulation, or as a lack of direction or lack of purpose.

Which essential oils balance the Solar Plexus Chakra?

For the solar plexus, choose essential oils that are spicy, cooling, and empowering. Lemon, Ginger, Peppermint, Sandalwood, Purification®, and Transformation™ are great essential oils to start with.

The heart chakra is the center of love both for yourself and others. When it is in balance we give and receive love appropriately. And when out of balance we either are unable to love or we are too dependent on others to justify our love. Some people become extremely co-dependent.

Which essential oils balance the Heart Chakra?

Essential oils for the heart chakra are loving and empowering. Start with Jasmine, Lavender, Marjoram, Rose, Believe™, Joy™.

The throat chakra is the house for appropriate communication. It listens as well as it speaks. A balanced throat chakra brings communications that are authentic, clear, and not in excess or deficit. When the throat chakra is in excess, people talk too much, speak out of context, and have a domineering voice. In deficit, the voice is small, doesn’t convey messages clearly, or doesn’t listen effectively.

Which essential oils balance the Throat Chakra?

Choose empowering essential oils and place them on the center of the throat. Start with  Frankincense,Lavender, Peppermint, Believe™, Deep Relief™, Thieves®, or Valor®.

Third Eye

The third eye is the seat of vision and dreaming. When it is in balance, we see our future clearly and have memorable dreams. Insomnia, procrastination, and fear result when the third eye is out of balance.

Which essential oils balance the Third Eye Chakra?

Use essential oils that foster vision and open the power of the brain and insight. Apply them, with caution, between the eyes. Start with Frankincense, Geranium, and Sandalwood.

The crown chakra is our connection with the universe or God. It is our energy that reaches up to the sky.  When the crown chakra is in excess, over-intellectualization is common. In deficiency, spirituality may suffer.

Which essential oils balance the Crown Chakra?

Choose relaxing and uplifting oils and apply them to the crown of the head. Essential oils that support this chakra can also serve as a protection from external energy. Apply to your hands and create a shield of energy. Extend your energy protection and create a circle of essential oil energy around you. Frankincense, Lavender, Petitgrain,Vetiver, and White Angelica™ are excellent options to start with.

The Art Of Meditation

The Art Of Meditation

For years I tried so hard to meditate, so hard that I gave up. Thinking that meditation is not for me and one needs to be gifted to attain a meditative state.

But I guess my thirst to meditate was still not satisfied. One day I came across a video on Utube of a simple but renowned teacher who put it so simply.

I followed these simple instructions and to my amazement I found my self in a state of total bless…….but….here it comes. It completely scared me. The feeling of being out of my own body scared me and during my first attempt came out very scared and did not know how to handle what I just experienced.

This is what I felt, I felt a magnificent power all around me. It was such deep concentrated love, that I never imagined. My breath was slow and I felt out of my body. I couldn’t feel my finger my face my legs, Nothing !!

But the extreme love was so overwhelming that I could not hold my state and got out of it.

It did scare me to meditate again, even though I  wanted to. So with great courage one day I decided that I'm going to dive in.

I prepared a very comfortable atmosphere to do my meditation, very dim lights, some clean, non-toxic calming aromas, gentle calming music and this is what I did….

I sat in a comfortable position, on a chair.

My Spine upright

I closed my eyes and started to follow my breath.

Thoughts started to fill my mind, I followed those thoughts.

But I also remembered to come back to following my breath.

This went on for a couple of minutes.

But I stuck with it.

Now the thoughts started getting lesser and my focus on my breath started getting longer

There was a dance going on between my thoughts and my breath focus.

And then after a while the magic started seeping in.

There were pockets when  thoughts and focus canceled each other out and I felt nothing  and thought nothing

I did not know where I was and I did not know who I was

This time is just let this experienced flow into me with resisting it.

I did not panic, I let this magnificent deep love just take over me.

Such bliss, its another world, another field.

I felt like I was renewed like I could create anything I want, I felt like a Creator.

I stayed there for a couple of minutes and then slowly started coming out of it.

One of the best experiences of my life.

The best part of it is that the more you meditate the easier it is to disconnect from the outside and go within. It's like strengthening a muscle, muscle memory.

To connect with your Source, God, Field of infinite Potential, you can call it as you wish, its something we all need to do.

And that’s because we need to recharge by going back to where we have come from.

In this day and age ever more so.

From where else then are you going to get your strength to live an abundant life?

The best part is that ANYONE CAN DO IT !!!

Yoga...Truths and Facts

Yoga has been a hot new trend in western culture since the ’90s, but in truth, it’s an ancient old Indian practice that’s been going on for 5,000 years.

Its Marvels are being highly talked about by Practitioners all over the world. Yoga has the ability to improve mental and physical challenges, and they do so for several good reasons. The truth is that you don’t have to be an expert yogi to enjoy the benefits of this gentle practice.

In addition to cultivating mindfulness and relaxation, it brings about Balance and Flows into your life not forgetting Vitality.

Let’s take a look at some of the other benefits that come with practicing yoga.

As a Yoga teacher I've experienced some significant benefits in my well being. I've seen my students evolve from not being able to stretch out a leg and touch their toes to getting so flexible that they can now lay their whole palm on the floor while touching their toes.Being able to quiet their minds and go within, bringing them true bliss.

1. Strengthens the spine:

Gentle practices that enhances flexibility such as yoga can do wonders for back pain. Yoga has been shown to help those suffering from lower back or spine issues in just a few months of practicing. Even if you do not have back issues , you can still benefit from yoga’s spine stretching abilities.

2. Supports Fertility:

Stress throws our bodies off course in several ways. Studies have shown that stress greatly decreases our fertility and yoga is a means to combat this. When women engage in yoga, it gives them the opportunity to de-stress, relax, and open up energetic channels that can increase the chances of conception. Yoga can also improve blood flow to reproductive organs, therefore improving their function and hormone levels.

3. Helps to increase endurance and strength:

Though yoga isn’t overly-strenuous, it can be challenging. Yoga allows your body to find balance and in doing so, it builds your strength and flexibility. When this happens, it increases your capacity for exercise. If you struggle with physical activity now, yoga may be a gateway that will allow you to work up to other cardio exercises. This in turn helps to support and strengthen your heart

4. Helps to improve Lung volume:

Yoga encourages deep breathing  practice ,Pranayama. Pranayama is an essential part of yoga that helps to expand the lung and its volume thus bring more oxygen into your body.

5. Helps joint Mobility:

One of the worst things you can do for your joints is not moving. Consistent movement is good for those with joint issues and a gentle practice such as yoga is highly beneficial. If you suffer from such issues, don’t feel like you can’t practice yoga. In my studios we use props such as belts, blocks, and bolsters that help my students find comfortable positions. If you stick with it, you just may find that it helps combat your symptoms and pain.

6. Divine Connection:

Yoga is a mind-body-heart connection. So naturally, it strengthens  our connection with Divine/God/Source. When we allow our minds to get quiet, we hear the messages that Divine has for us. Perhaps you’re questioning the next step you should take on your spiritual path, or you believe there’s another lesson to learn, the meditative aspect of yoga can help you reconnect and listen.

7. Improves Awareness:

Yoga helps to quiet the mind. When we engage in yoga, we allow ourselves to let go of unwanted thoughts and feelings by bringing our awareness to our breath, in turn  reducing  stress . When we reduce stress, we’re better able to be in the present, The Now.

What does yoga do for you? I love to hear how You are moved, shifted, and changed by yoga.
